Abstract
System, apparatuses, and methods for performing automated reagent-based analysis are provided. Also provided are methods for automated attachment of a cap to a reaction receptacle, and automated removal of a cap from a capped reaction receptacle.
Claims8
A fluid cartridge comprising:
- a fluid chamber;
- a fluid reservoir, wherein the fluid chamber and the fluid reservoir contain the same liquid, and wherein the fluid reservoir has a greater volumetric capacity than the fluid chamber;
- a frangible seal covering an opening of the fluid chamber and a frangible seal covering an opening of the fluid reservoir;
- a first opening between the fluid reservoir and the fluid chamber, the first opening being disposed proximate a lower portion of the fluid reservoir and fluid chamber and providing liquid communication between the fluid reservoir and the fluid chamber;
- and
- a second opening between the fluid reservoir and fluid chamber, the second opening being disposed proximate a top portion of the fluid reservoir and fluid chamber and providing fluid communication between the fluid reservoir and the fluid chamber.
