Abstract
The present invention provides an improved diagnostic test strip system comprising one or more of the following safety features: (a) a test strip housing having a sample port of sufficient size to allow placement of a patient's finger or thumb therein, (b) a cover for the test strip housing, and (c) a lock to lock the test strip housing to the cover.
Claims22
A diagnostic test strip system comprising a test strip housing, wherein the test strip housing comprises a sample port of sufficient size to allow placement of a human patient's finger or thumb therein, and a result viewing port.
The diagnostic test strip system of claim 20, wherein the sample port insert comprises one or more markings to measure the volume of a sample added to the test strip.
A diagnostic test strip system comprising a test strip housing, wherein the test strip housing comprises:
- a. a sample port of sufficient size to allow placement of a human patient's finger or thumb therein,
- b. a result viewing port, and
- c. a slideable cover, wherein the cover can be moved from a first position on the test strip housing to a second position on the test strip housing, wherein
- i. when the cover is located at the first position on the test strip housing it does not cover the sample port, and
- ii. when the cover is located at the second position on the test strip housing it does cover the sample port, and
- iii. when the cover is moved to the second position on the test strip housing it locks irreversibly to the test strip housing.
A diagnostic test strip system comprising a test strip housing, wherein the test strip housing comprises:
- a. a sample port having a diameter or width of from 6 to 20 mm,
- b. a result viewing port, and
- c. a slideable cover,
- i. wherein the cover can be moved from a first position on the test strip housing to a second position on the test strip housing, and
- ii. wherein when the cover is located at the first position on the test strip housing it does not cover the sample port, and
- iii. wherein when the cover is located at the second position on the test strip housing it does cover the sample port, and
- iv. wherein when the cover is moved to the second position on the test strip housing it locks irreversibly to the test strip housing.
