An isolated bacteriophage having lytic activity against M4, wherein the bacteriophage comprises a nucleic acid sequence encoding an endolysin, wherein the nucleic acid sequence has at least 95% sequence identity to the nucleic acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO:1.
An isolated bacteriophage having lytic activity against M4, wherein the bacteriophage comprises a nucleic acid sequence encoding an endolysin having at least 95% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO:2.
A method for reducing the number of viable M4 in tobacco, comprising:
- contacting tobacco with an effective amount of a composition comprising:
- a bacteriophage having lytic activity against M4, wherein the bacteriophage comprises a nucleic acid sequence encoding an endolysin, wherein the nucleic acid sequence has at least 95% sequence identity to the nucleic acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO:1;
- or
- a bacteriophage having lytic activity against M4, wherein the bacteriophage comprises a nucleic acid sequence encoding an endolysin having at least 95% sequence identity to the amino acid sequence shown in SEQ ID NO:2.
