Abstract
Polymeric composite stents reinforced with fibers for implantation into a bodily lumen are disclosed.

A method of making a stent comprising:
- providing a tube comprising a woven structure including fibers, wherein the fibers comprise a bioabsorbable polymer;
- heating the tube to a temperature range between a softening temperature of the bioabsorbable polymer and below a melting temperature of the bioabsorbable polymer;
- and
- applying pressure to the tube so as to flatten at least some of the fibers of the tube to reduce a radial profile of the tube.
