Abstract
A locking utility pull box lid device is provided. The device includes a lid and two locking members that are rotatably coupled to a bottom surface of the lid. An actuator bolt extends through each lid aperture and each bolt engages an engagement plate of one locking member. The rotation of the bolt moves the bolt axially and in response, the locking member is rotated between a locked and unlocked position.
Claims17
A locking box lid device comprising:
- a lid, comprising:
- a top surface;
- a bottom surface;
- and
- a lid aperture extending from the top surface to the bottom surface;
- a locking member rotatably coupled to the bottom surface of the lid, the locking member comprising:
- a locking plate;
- and
- an engagement plate;
- an actuator rod operatively coupled through the lid aperture, wherein:
- the actuator rod moves up and down relative to the top surface of the lid;
- the actuator rod engages the engagement plate of the locking member;
- and
- the locking member rotates between an unlocked position and a locked position in response to movement of the actuator rod up and down respectively while engaging the engagement plate.

A locking box lid device comprising:
- a lid, comprising:
- a top surface;
- a bottom surface;
- and
- two lid apertures each extending from the top surface to the bottom surface;
- two locking members rotatably coupled to the bottom surface of the lid, each locking member comprising:
- a locking plate;
- and
- an engagement plate, wherein one locking member is located adjacent one lid aperture and the other locking member is located adjacent the other lid aperture;
- two actuator rods, each actuator rod operatively coupled through one of the lid apertures, wherein:
- the actuator rod moves up and down relative to the top surface of the lid;
- each actuator rod engages the engagement plate of one of the locking members corresponding to the lid aperture the actuator rod is coupled through;
- and
- each locking member rotates between an unlocked position and a locked position in response to movement of the actuator rod up and down respectively through the lid aperture corresponding to the locking member.

A locking box lid device comprising:
- a lid comprising a top surface, a bottom surface, and a first lid aperture extending through the top surface, through the lid, and through the bottom surface;
- a first bracket coupled to the bottom surface of the lid adjacent to said first lid aperture, said first bracket comprising a first bracket extension perpendicular to the second bottom surface of the lid and having a first bracket extension aperture, said first bracket extension further comprising a first bracket aperture, wherein said first bracket is located on the second bottom surface such that said first lid aperture and said first bracket apertures are substantially aligned;
- a first locking member comprising a first tube section having an axis running along the length of the first tube section parallel to the interior walls of the first tube section, a first base support plate coupled to the first tube section, and a first engagement plate coupled to said first base support plate, wherein said first locking member is located such that the axis of said first tube section passes through said first bracket extension aperture;
- a first rod extending through the first bracket aperture of said first bracket and the first tube section of said first locking member, wherein said first rod operatively couples said first locking member to said first bracket;
- and
- a first actuator rod configured to extend from the first top surface of the lid, through said first lid aperture, through said first bracket, and contact the first engagement plate of said first locking member, wherein said first actuator rod is configured to move up and down relative to the first top surface of the lid responsive to force applied to the first actuator rod, and wherein said first actuator rod is further configured to remain stationary when force is not applied to the first actuator rod.
