Abstract
Mobile device security techniques are described. For a specific computing device, for each of a plurality of distinct security categories, a risk score is determined. The determined risk scores are aggregated to obtain an overall risk score.
Claims29
One or more instances of computer-readable media having contents capable of causing a computing system to perform a method, the method comprising:
- for each of a plurality of stages implicated in the utilization by a mobile device of a remote service, the plurality of stages comprising the mobile device, the remote service, and at least one stage intermediate to the mobile device and the remote service:
- receiving results of monitoring for vulnerabilities affecting the stage specifying a vulnerability score;
- where the received results are positive, normalizing the vulnerability score specified by received results in accordance with a common scale;
- and
- acting on the received positive results.

A method in a computing system comprising:
- for a specific computing device, for each of a plurality of distinct security categories, determining a risk score;
- and
- aggregating the determined risk scores to obtain an overall risk score.
A security system comprising:
- an access component installed as an application on each of a plurality of user devices;
- a private network adapted to deliver data;
- and
- a security control center adapted to establish security policies, perform risk reporting, and track security status of the user devices.
1 more element
A security system comprising:
- a DNS server adapted to provide domain name services to a plurality of subscribing mobile devices;
- a VPN server adapted to provide virtual private network services to the plurality of subscribing mobile devices;
- and
- a configuration server adapted to configure the plurality of subscribing mobile devices to access the DNS server via the VPN server to obtain all domain name services consumed by the plurality of subscribing mobile devices.
1 more element
A mobile device comprising:
- a memory, the memory storing:
- a virtual machine configured to execute a security-optimized operating system, and
- a web-accessing program for execution on top of the security-optimized operating system in the virtual machine;
- and
- a processor configured to execute the virtual machine.
