Abstract
A method for authenticating a message by a wireless device is described. The wireless device obtains the input message. The wireless device generates a keystream. The wireless device computes a message authentication code using the keystream and a universal hash function. The universal hash function is computed using carryless multiplication.
Claims43
A wireless device configured for authenticating a message, comprising:
- means for obtaining the message;
- means for generating a keystream;
- and
- means for computing a message authentication code using the keystream and a universal hash function, wherein the universal hash function is computed using carryless multiplication.
An apparatus configured for authenticating a message, comprising:
- circuitry configured to obtain the message, to generate a keystream, and to compute a message authentication code using the keystream and a universal hash function, wherein the universal hash function is computed using carryless multiplication.
A method for authenticating a message by a wireless device, comprising:
- obtaining the message;
- generating a keystream;
- and
- computing a message authentication code using the keystream and a universal hash function, wherein the universal hash function is computed using carryless multiplication.
A computer-program product for authenticating a message, the computer-program product comprising a non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions thereon, the instructions comprising:
- code for causing a wireless device to obtain the message;
- code for causing the wireless device to generate a keystream;
- and
- code for causing the wireless device to compute a message authentication code using the keystream and a universal hash function, wherein the universal hash function is computed using carryless multiplication.
