Storage system and object management method

A storage system, comprising

• a second NAS (Network Attached Storage) and a third NAS;
• wherein the second NAS comprises a second server and a storage apparatus;
• wherein the second server comprises:
• a memory configured to store programs;
• and
• a processor configured to:
• receive an object from an external apparatus;
• create management information of the object;
• store the management information and entity data of the object in the storage apparatus;
• replicate the management information and the entity data of the object to the third NAS;
• update the management information as to include path information of the object stored in the third NAS;
• and
• delete the entity data of the object in the storage apparatus, and
• wherein, when objects are migrated to the second server, the processor is configured to:
• create custom information of a first object in addition to creating the management information, wherein the custom information includes path information of the first object;
• transfer the management information and the custom information of the first object to the third NAS prior to replicating entity data of the first object to the third NAS;
• and
• replicate the entity data of the first object received to the third NAS.

An object management method in a storage system, comprising a second NAS (Network Attached Storage), comprising a second server and a storage apparatus, and a third NAS, for migrating an object managed by a first NAS;

• the method comprising:
• receiving, using the second server, an object from an external apparatus;
• creating, using the second server, management information of the object;
• storing, using the second server, the management information and entity data of the object in the storage apparatus;
• replicating, using the second server, the management information and the entity data of the object to the third NAS;
• updating, using the second server, the management information as to include path information of the object stored in the third NAS;
• and
• deleting, using the second server, the entity data of the object in the storage apparatus,
• when objects are migrated from the first NAS to the second server, the method comprises:
• creating, using the second server, custom information of a first object in the first NAS in addition to creating the management information, wherein the custom information includes path information of the first object stored in the first NAS;
• transferring, using the second server, the management information and the custom information of the first object to the third NAS prior to replicating entity data of the first object to the third NAS;
• and
• replicating, using the second server, the entity data of the first object received from the first NAS to the third NAS.
