Abstract
Systems and methods for converting structured data into database entries include receiving data values and metadata elements that form a data structure for the data values. The data values are converted into entries in database tables that are related according to the data structure formed by the metadata elements. The database table entries may be used to generate a webpage configured to report a metric of the data values.
Claims20
A computerized method of converting structured data into entries in a database comprising:
- providing a webpage configured to receive data values and a metadata structure for the data values as input, the webpage being configured to convert the entered data values and metadata structure into Extensible Markup Language (XML) format;
- receiving the data values in XML format;
- converting the data values in XML format into entries in database tables of a database, the database tables being related according to the metadata structure for the data values;
- retrieving the data values from the database tables using the metadata structure;
- and
- providing a webpage configured to report a metric of the data values.
A computerized method of converting structured data into entries in a database, the structured data including metadata elements, one or more attributes associated with an element, and data values for the one or more attributes, the metadata elements in the structured data being related according to a hierarchy, the method comprising:
- receiving the structured data at a processing circuit;
- parsing the structured data to identify the metadata elements in the structured data;
- for each identified metadata element, creating a table entry in a metadata table, the metadata table being configured to relate table entries in the metadata table according to the hierarchy of the structured data;
- for each identified metadata element, creating an element table in the database referencing the metadata table, the element table comprising any attributes and data values associated with the identified metadata element;
- and
- using the metadata table and element tables to generate a webpage configured to report a metric of the data values in the element tables.
A system for converting structured data into entries in a database comprising a processing circuit configured to:
- receive the structured data, wherein the structured data comprises metadata elements, one or more attributes associated with an element, and data values for the one or more attributes, wherein the metadata elements in the structured data being related according to a hierarchy;
- parse the structured data to identify the metadata elements in the structured data;
- create, for each identified metadata element, a table entry in a metadata table, the metadata table being configured to relate table entries in the metadata table according to the hierarchy of the structured data;
- create, for each identified metadata element, an element table in the database referencing the metadata table, the element table comprising any attributes and data values associated with the identified metadata element;
- and
- use the metadata table and element tables to generate a webpage configured to report a metric of the data values in the element tables.
