A method for the treatment or prevention of a condition selected from gastric acid related diseases, gastrointestinal inflammatory diseases, symptomatic GERD, erosive esophagitis, peptic ulcer disease, heartburn, regurgitation, acid reflux diseases and nausea, comprising administering, to a subject in need thereof, a therapeutically effective amount of a substituted imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine of formula I or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof:
- where R is —CH2COOH or —COOH.
The method according to claim 1, wherein the compound of formula I is 5-{2-[({8-[(2,6-dimethylbenzyl)amino]-2,3-dimethylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-6-yl}carbonyl)-amino]ethoxy}-5-oxopentanoic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
The method according to claim 1, wherein the compound of formula I is 4-{2-[({8-[(2,6-dimethylbenzyl)amino]-2,3-dimethylimidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-6-yl}carbonyl)-amino]ethoxy}-4-oxobutanoic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
The method according to claim 1, wherein the substituted imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine of formula I or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof
- where R is —CH2COOH or —COOH, is in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable diluent or carrier.
