Abstract
Disclosed are novel compositions and methods for introduction of macromolecules and nanoparticles into living cells. The invention includes a polypeptide sequence which when fused to a macromolecule or nanoparticle enhances its introduction into the cell.
Claims15
A composition comprising:
- a) a peptide comprising an amino acid sequence that is at least 80% identical to SEQ ID NO:1, and
- b) a macromolecule or a nanoparticle,
- wherein the peptide is linked to the macromolecule or the nanoparticle and the peptide facilitates or enhances the introduction of the macromolecule or the nanoparticle into a cell.
(canceled)
A method of treating or preventing a disease in an individual, comprising administering to the individual a composition comprising:
- a) a peptide comprising an amino acid sequence that is at least 80% identical to SEQ ID NO:1 (GSRVQIRCRFRNSTR), and
- b) a macromolecule or a nanoparticle,
- wherein the peptide is linked to the macromolecule or the nanoparticle;
- the peptide facilitates or enhances the introduction of the macromolecule of the nanoparticle into a cell, and wherein the macromolecule or nanoparticle provides a therapeutic benefit in the disease.
