Abstract
The present invention relates to a method of obtaining metal nanoparticles functionalized with fluorescent organic molecules by means of the treatment of one or more metal salts with a reducing agent in the presence of a fluorescent organic molecule. The invention also relates to the metal nanoparticles obtainable by said method and to their use for detecting molecules and analytes.
Claims14
A method for obtaining metal nanoparticles functionalized with fluorescent organic molecules which comprises treating one or more metal salts with a reducing agent capable of reducing the metal salt cation to the metallic state in aqueous medium, characterized in that the treatment of the one or more metal salts with the reducing agent is performed in the presence of a fluorescent organic molecule and in that the fluorescent organic molecule is selected from fluorescein, rhodamine, coumarin, methylene blue, Cascade blue, Lucifer yellow, boron-dipyrromethane, and mixtures thereof.
