Abstract
Devices, such as chips for DNA analysis, have at least one fluid transport nanochannel with at least one intersecting (e.g., transverse) sensing nanochannel that can be monitored for change in ionic current to determine characteristics or parameters of interest, e.g., molecular identification, length determination, localized (probe) mapping and the like.
Claims27
A substrate having at least one fluid transport nanochannel and at least one fluid sensing nanochannel that intersects the fluid transport nanochannel.
A device for analyzing nucleic acids, comprising:
- a nanofluidic chip comprising at least one fluid transport nanochannel and at least one fluid sensing nanochannel that intersects the at least one fluid transport nanochannel.
A method of analyzing an analyte, comprising:
- flowing an analyte through a fluid transport nanochannel;
- and
- electronically monitoring for perturbation of a transverse bias current of a fluid sensing channel that intersects the fluid transport nanochannel associated with the flowing step.
A method of forming a fluidic analysis device, comprising:
- providing a substrate;
- and
- forming at least one fluidic transport nanochannel and at least one bisecting fluidic sensing nanochannel in the substrate, the fluidic sensing nanochannel having at least one primary dimension that is smaller than at least one primary dimension of the at least one fluidic transport nanochannel
