Abstract
Use of photochemically cleavable compounds in course of one or multi-photon irradiation experiments.
Claims22
A method for the neutralisation of a biologically active compound formed by spontaneous degradation of a photocleavable compound, comprising,
- mono- or multi-photon irradiating said photocleavable compound or a salt thereof together with a reagent, which reagent is capable of neutralizing a biologically active compound formed by the spontaneous degradation of the photocleavable compound.
A trifluoroacetic acid salt of a compound of formula (I)
- wherein
- R1 stands for a nitro group;
- R2 stands for a hydrogen or bromo atom, or
- straight or branched substituted or unsubstituted alkoxy, cycloalkoxy, preferably C1-C6 alkoxy group, substituted with an unsubstituted amino group, or an amino group substituted with a C1-C6 alkyl group or cycloalkyl group, or two identical or different C1-C6 alkyl groups, aryl group, heteroaryl group or cycloalkyl group;
- or substituted or unsubstituted aryl group;
- R3 and R4 stand for hydrogen atom;
- R5 is an acid residue of an amino acid, or
- R5 stands for a group of the general formula (II)
- in which the nitrogen atom and the attached R6 and R7 substituents together stand for an amine residue of a neurotransmitter or a compound assumed to be a neurotransmitter and in which X stands for an oxygen or sulphur atom;
- or
- a composition comprising photochemically cleavable compounds or salts thereof and a reagent which neutralizes the biologically active compounds formed by the degradation of photochemically cleavable compounds and further accessory agents if necessary.

A process for performing a one- or a multiphoton irradiation process, comprising placing the observed cell(s) in a fluid media, adding a photochemically cleavable compound and a reagent which neutralizes the biologically active compounds formed by spontaneous degradation of the photocleavable compound to the media, then exposing the resultant sample.
