Thermal Interface and Thermal Management System for Battery Cells

A battery assembly comprising:

• a plurality of battery cells, each battery cell including a positive terminal at a first end of the battery cell and a negative terminal at a second end of the battery cell, the second end opposite to the first end;
• a heat spreader formed of a thermally conductive material;
• and
• a thermal interface positioned between the second ends of the battery cells and the heat spreader, the thermal interface comprising a single layer of a material that thermally couples the second ends of the battery cells to the heat spreader.

A battery assembly comprising:

• a battery means having a negative terminal means;
• a means for spreading heat;
• and
• a thermal interface means positioned between the negative terminal means and the heat spreading means, the thermal interface means for thermally coupling the negative terminal means to the heat spreading means.
