An image analysis method for analyzing a magnetic resonance image obtained from a living body, comprising:

• creating process of creating a phase difference distribution of a magnetic resonance image obtained from a predetermined area of the living body;
• fitting the phase difference distribution with a plurality of function groups;
• and
• verifying normality of the living body included in the predetermined area, based on the magnetic susceptibility of the tissue included in the predetermined area determined on the basis of the parameters of the plurality of function groups fit to the phase difference distribution.

A non-transitory computer readable medium storing an image analysis program for implementing a function of analyzing a magnetic resonance image obtained from a living body in a computer, wherein the program comprises functionality to:

• create a phase difference distribution of a magnetic resonance image obtained from a predetermined area of the living body;
• fit the phase difference distribution with a plurality of function groups;
• and
• verifying verify normality of the living body included in the predetermined area, based on the magnetic susceptibility of the tissue included in the predetermined area determined on the basis of the parameters of the plurality of function groups fit to the phase difference distribution.
