Abstract
A method including: dividing a first video frame into a predetermined plurality of regions; assigning a quantization parameter to each of the predetermined plurality of regions in accordance with a first predetermined pattern of quantization parameters, the quantization parameters not being all the same; dividing video frames, subsequent to the first video frame, into the predetermined plurality of regions; and assigning a quantization parameter to each of the predetermined plurality of regions in the video frames subsequent to the first video frame, in accordance with another predetermined pattern, different from the first predetermined pattern.
Claims14
A method comprising:
- dividing, with an encoding apparatus, a first video frame into a predetermined plurality of regions;
- assigning, with the encoding apparatus, a quantization parameter to each of the predetermined plurality of regions in accordance with a first predetermined pattern of quantization parameters, said quantization parameters not being all the same;
- dividing, with the encoding apparatus, video frames, subsequent to the first video frame, into the predetermined plurality of regions;
- and
- assigning, with the encoding apparatus, a quantization parameter to each of the predetermined plurality of regions in the video frames subsequent to the first video frame, in accordance with another predetermined pattern, different from the first predetermined pattern.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium encoded with instructions, which when executed by a computer causes the computer to implement a method comprising:
- dividing a first video frame into a predetermined plurality of regions;
- assigning a quantization parameter to each of the predetermined plurality of regions in accordance with a first predetermined pattern of quantization parameters, said quantization parameters not being all the same;
- dividing video frames, subsequent to the first video frame, into the predetermined plurality of regions;
- and
- assigning a quantization parameter to each of the predetermined plurality of regions in the video frames subsequent to the first video frame, in accordance with another predetermined pattern, different from the first predetermined pattern.
An apparatus, comprising:
- a non-transitory memory that stores executable instructions;
- and
- a processor that executes the instructions in order to
- divide a first video frame into a predetermined plurality of regions,
- assign a quantization parameter to each of the predetermined plurality of regions in accordance with a first predetermined pattern of quantization parameters, said quantization parameters not being all the same,
- divide video frames, subsequent to the first video frame, into the predetermined plurality of regions, and
- assign a quantization parameter to each of the predetermined plurality of regions in the video frames subsequent to the first video frame, in accordance with another predetermined pattern, different from the first predetermined pattern.
