Abstract
Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate supporting multiple connections associated with a wireless terminal. Notifications may be provided to a primary base station upon establishment and/or removal of connections between the wireless terminal and secondary base station(s). Additionally, the multiple connections may be evaluated and a preferred connection from the set of multiple connections may be utilized to transfer data to the wireless terminal over a downlink connection.
Claims30
A base station that facilitates routing packets for downlink transfer to a wireless terminal, the base station comprising:
- a processor;
- memory in electronic communication with the processor;
- and
- instructions stored in the memory, the instructions being executable by the processor to:
- receive the packets from a core network;
- forward the packets to the wireless terminal;
- receive a secondary link notification message indicating that the wireless terminal has a connection with a secondary base station;
- replicate the packets;
- and
- forward the replicated packets to the secondary base station.
A method that facilitates routing packets for downlink transfer to a wireless terminal, the method being implemented by a base station, the method comprising:
- receiving the packets from a core network;
- forwarding the packets to the wireless terminal;
- receiving a secondary link notification message indicating that the wireless terminal has a connection with a secondary base station;
- replicating the packets;
- and
- forwarding the replicated packets to the secondary base station.
A base station that facilitates routing packets for downlink transfer to a wireless terminal, the base station comprising:
- means for receiving the packets from a core network;
- means for forwarding the packets to the wireless terminal;
- means for receiving a secondary link notification message indicating that the wireless terminal has a connection with a secondary base station;
- means for replicating the packets;
- and
- means for forwarding the replicated packets to the secondary base station.
A non-transitory machine-readable medium having stored thereon instructions that are executable to:
- receive packets from a core network;
- forward the packets to a wireless terminal;
- receive a secondary link notification message indicating that the wireless terminal has a connection with a secondary base station;
- replicate the packets;
- and
- forward the replicated packets to the secondary base station.
