A method in a base station of a communication system that comprises a transport network interconnecting the base station with at least a gateway node and that further comprises one or more user equipment, the method comprising:

• obtaining transport network congestion information;
• and
• adjusting, based on the transport network congestion information, a radio resource utilization parameter for at least one of the one or more user equipment, wherein the radio resource utilization parameter comprises a ratio of used radio resources in a predefined block of radio resources to a number of radio resources of the predefined block.

A base station of a communication system comprising a transport network interconnecting the base station with at least a gateway node, the communication system further comprising one or more user equipment, the base station comprising:

• an input device configured to obtain transport network congestion information;
• and
• a processor configured to adjust, based on the transport network congestion information, a radio resource utilization parameter for at least one of the one or more user equipment, wherein the radio resource utilization parameter comprises a ratio of used radio resources in a predefined block of radio resources to a number of radio resources of the predefined block.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising, stored thereupon, a computer program for a base station of a communication system that comprises a transport network interconnecting the base station with at least a gateway node and that further comprises one or more user equipment, the computer program comprising computer program code configured to cause a base station executing the computer program code to:

• obtain transport network congestion information, and
• adjust, based on the transport network congestion information, a radio resource utilization parameter for at least one of the one or more user equipment, wherein the radio resource utilization parameter comprises a ratio of used radio resources in a predefined block of radio resources to a number of radio resources of the predefined block.
