Abstract
A liquid-ejecting head includes a pressure-generating chamber communicating with a nozzle opening and includes a piezoelectric element including a piezoelectric layer and electrodes. The piezoelectric layer contains bismuth sodium potassium titanate and satisfies the inequality 0≦Pr/Pm≦0.25 at 25° C., where Pm and Pr are the saturation polarization and remanent polarization, respectively, of the piezoelectric layer.
Claims5
A piezoelectric element comprising:
- a piezoelectric layer, and
- a pair of electrodes associated with the piezoelectric layer,
- wherein the piezoelectric layer contains a perovskite structure bismuth sodium potassium titanate and satisfies the inequality 0·Pr/Pm·0.25 at 25° C., where Pm and Pr are the saturation polarization and remanent polarization, respectively, of the piezoelectric layer, the saturation polarization (Pm) being a polarization of the piezoelectric layer when supplied with a voltage of about 200 kV/cm to 1000 kV/cm.
