Abstract
This disclosure is related to protective devices that can protect and secure various structures. The structures can be disposed on a horizontally disposed surface or a vertically disposed surface. The protection devices can comprise protective cage and protective gate members. The protection devices can also include securing members to prevent the protective cage and gate members from being opened.

A device for protecting various structures mounted to a horizontally disposed surface, the device comprising:
- a base portion supported by the horizontally disposed surface;
- at least one protective cage member supported by the base portion;
- and
- a first and second securing member for allowing the at least one protective cage member to be secured to the base portion.

A device for protecting a structure mounted to a vertically disposed surface, comprising:
- a plurality of protective gate members attached to the vertically disposed surface;
- and
- a first and second securing member attached to the plurality of protective gate members for securing the plurality of protective gate members to each other.
