An animal enclosure including an enclosure unit for containing an animal, the enclosure unit including:
- interconnection means for connecting the enclosure unit with one or more other enclosure units;
- a plurality of attachment portions for attaching enclosure accessories including animal entertainment features or gripping means;
- at least one access mechanism to provide access to the internal space of the enclosure unit;
- a movement mechanism for moving the enclosure unit over a surface;
- and
- at least one handle portion for handling the enclosure unit.
