System and method for cloud-based implementation of control of focused overload of network element (cofo-ne)

An apparatus comprising:

• a signaling part of a network element comprising resource blocks from a variety of networked resources;
• a media part of the network element comprising resource blocks from the variety of networked resources, wherein the resource blocks are integrated into a pool and a unified view is presented to the signaling part of the network element, wherein the signaling part of the network element is further configured to control allocation of resources from the media part of the network element via instructions over virtual private network links;
• wherein the resource blocks for applications and services are configured to be used for a duration of time;
• and released after utilization.

A system comprising:

• means for obtaining resource blocks for a signaling part of a network element from a variety of networked resources;
• means for controlling allocation of resources from a media part of the network element;
• means for obtaining resource blocks for the media part of the network element from the variety of networked resources, wherein the resource blocks are integrated into a pool and a unified view is presented to the signaling part of the network element;
• and means for using the resource blocks for applications and services for a duration of time.

An article of manufacture including a computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon, comprising:

• instructions for obtaining resource blocks for a signaling part of a network element from a variety of networked resources;
• instructions for controlling, by the signaling part of the network element, allocation of resources from a media part of the network element via instructions over virtual private network links;
• instructions for obtaining resource blocks for the media part of the network element from the variety of networked resources, wherein the resource blocks are integrated into a pool and a unified view is presented to the signaling part of the network element;
• and instructions for using the resource blocks for applications and services for a duration of time.
