Method and system for attaching scanned documents to email replies via a mobile communications device

A system for attaching a scan to an email reply, said system comprising:

• a processor;
• a data bus coupled to said processor;
• and
• a computer-usable medium embodying computer program code, said computer-usable medium being coupled to said data bus, said computer program code comprising instructions executable by said processor and configured for:
• adding a contact address to a reply-to-email as an additional address via a mobile communications device so that a scanned document is capable of being sent as an attachment to an email address listed in said reply-to email;
• polling a server monitoring said contact address to thereafter initiate a scan request;
• and
• transmitting said scanned document as an attachment to said email address listed in said reply-to-email via an email client associated with said mobile communications device.

A processor-readable medium storing computer code representing instructions to cause a process for attaching a scan to an email reply, said computer code comprising code to:

• add a contact address to a reply-to-email as an additional address utilizing a mobile communications device so that a scanned document is capable of being sent as an attachment to an email address listed in said reply-to email;
• poll a server monitoring said contact address to thereafter initiate a scan request;
• and
• transmit said scanned document as an attachment to said email address listed in said reply-to-email via an email client associated with said mobile communications device.
