System and method for enhanced shopping, preference, profile and survey data input and gathering

A computer-implemented method for input by a human operator of values for one or more fields of data in a single swipe or gesture, comprising:

• providing a computing device having at least a processor, a memory, a display, and an interface for inputting of the gestures;
• providing software loaded into said memory;
• displaying in said software one or more of said fields of data;
• providing a pointer means which said human operator may manipulate to perform said gestures using said interface;
• selecting one or more of said fields of data, and inputting said values for one or more of said fields of data in said single swipe or gesture;
• and
• recording of said values.

A computer-implemented method for gathering one or more of preferences, profile or survey data from users or customers of entities that operate over electronic networks such as the internet, comprising:

• providing one or more servers from which said entities deliver over said networks, to computing devices of said customers or users, graphical objects representing one or more products, items or services;
• providing one or more servers to which said entities receive over said networks, from said computing devices of said customers or users, one or more of said preferences, profile or survey data;
• providing said computing devices each having at least a processor, a memory, a display, and an interface for inputting of gestures;
• providing software loaded into said memory;
• displaying in said software a rating scale having a range of values representing degrees of preference;
• displaying in said software one or more of said objects representing said products, items or services;
• providing a pointer means which a human operator may manipulate to perform said gestures using said interface;
• selecting, and adjusting the positions of one or more of said objects relative to said rating scale, by said human operator, in a single swipe or gesture;
• generating said values, indicated by said positions of said objects relative to said rating scale,
• transmitting of said values over said networks, from said computing devices of said customers or users, to said servers;
• and
• storing of said values on said servers.
