Abstract
A method and system for conducting an online payment transaction through a point of sale device. The method includes receiving input from a user selecting an item for purchase through the point of sale device; calculating a total purchase amount for the item in response to a request from the user to purchase the item; and sending payment authorization for the total purchase amount from the point of sale device to a payment entity, in which the payment authorization is sent to the payment entity via a mobile communication device of the user. The method further includes receiving a result of the payment authorization from the payment entity through the mobile communication device; and completing the payment transaction based on the result of the payment authorization.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- maintaining payment account information by using a payment application in a mobile device memory included in a mobile device, wherein the payment application is not browser based and is a mobile operating system platform based mobile application preinstalled or downloaded and installed on the mobile device, the mobile device comprising a mobile device display, a mobile device processor, a mobile device radio interface, and a mobile device wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) interface;
- receiving input at the payment application running on the mobile device, the input received from a user to initiate a transaction to purchase an item selected at the mobile device and further wherein the payment application transmits the selected item to a management server for processing the transaction using a payment method;
- sending a request from the payment application to the management server for an advertisement for display within a specific payment application generated screen, wherein an advertisement is selected by the management server based on correlating targeting parameters, the specific payment application generated screen corresponding to a specific screen, scene, or real estate property;
- receiving the advertisement from the management server;
- and
- displaying the advertisement within the specific payment application generated screen.
A mobile device, comprising:
- a mobile device memory included in the mobile device, the mobile device memory configured to maintain payment account information by using a payment application, wherein the payment application is not browser based and is a mobile operating system platform based mobile application preinstalled or downloaded and installed on the mobile device;
- a mobile device wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) interface;
- a mobile device input interface configured to receive input from a user to initiate a transaction to purchase an item selected at the mobile device and further wherein the mobile device transmits the selected item to a management server for processing the transaction using a payment method
- a payment application configured to send a request for an advertisement for display within a specific payment application generated screen to the management server and receive the advertisement from the management server, the specific payment application generated screen corresponding to a specific screen, scene, or real estate property, wherein the advertisement is selected by the management server based on correlating targeting parameters;
- a mobile device processor configured to execute the payment application;
- and
- a mobile device display configured to display the advertisement within the specific payment application generated screen.
The mobile device of claim 101, wherein targeting parameters comprises personal information and/or transaction history.
A non-transitory computer readable medium, comprising:
- computer code for maintaining payment account information by using a payment application in a mobile device memory included in a mobile device, wherein the payment application is not browser based and is a mobile operating system platform based mobile application preinstalled or downloaded and installed on the mobile device, the mobile device comprising a mobile device display, a mobile device processor, a mobile device radio interface, and a mobile device wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) interface;
- computer code for receiving input at the payment application running on the mobile device, the input received from a user to initiate a transaction to purchase an item selected at the mobile device and further wherein the payment application transmits the selected item to a management server for the transaction using a payment method;
- computer code for sending a request for an advertisement for display within a specific payment application generated screen to the management server, wherein the advertisement is selected by the management server based on correlating targeting parameters, the specific payment application generated screen corresponding to a specific screen, scene, or real estate property;
- computer code for receiving the advertisement from the management server;
- and
- compute code for displaying the advertisement within the specific payment application generated screen.
