Abstract
A system and method for determining a health condition of wellsite equipment is presented herein. The method includes thermally analyzing at least a portion of one of the wellsite equipment units with a thermal imaging device capable of detecting infrared light to determine a temperature of the analyzed portion of the wellsite equipment unit. The temperature of the analyzed portion of the wellsite equipment unit may be used to indicate the health condition of the wellsite equipment unit.
Claims22
A method for determining a health condition of wellsite equipment, comprising:
- rigging up a plurality of wellsite equipment units at or nearby a wellsite;
- thermally analyzing at least a portion of one of the wellsite equipment units with a thermal imaging device capable of detecting infrared light to determine a temperature of the analyzed portion of the wellsite equipment unit;
- and
- using the temperature of the analyzed portion of the wellsite equipment unit to indicate the health condition of the wellsite equipment unit.
A system for determining a health condition of wellsite equipment, comprising:
- a plurality of wellsite equipment units located at or nearby a wellsite;
- an oilfield camera comprising an infrared sensor positionable at or nearby the wellsite for thermally analyzing at least a portion of one of the wellsite equipment units to determine a temperature of the analyzed portion of the wellsite equipment unit;
- and
- an oilfield thermal imaging tool comprising a processing unit operatively connectable to the oilfield camera for generating the health condition of the wellsite equipment unit based on the temperature of the analyzed portion of the wellsite equipment unit output from the oilfield camera.
