Abstract
Various embodiments relating to air-fuel ratio control are described herein. In one embodiment a method includes adjusting fuel injection to an engine responsive to air-fuel ratio sensor feedback with a first control structure, and in response to an air-fuel ratio sensor asymmetric degradation, adjusting fuel injection to the engine responsive to air-fuel ratio sensor feedback with a second, different, control structure.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- adjusting fuel injection to an engine responsive to air-fuel ratio sensor feedback with a first control structure;
- and
- in response to an air-fuel ratio sensor asymmetric degradation, adjusting fuel injection to the engine responsive to air-fuel ratio sensor feedback with a second, different, control structure.
A vehicle comprising:
- an engine that exhausts gas into an exhaust system;
- an air-fuel ratio sensor positioned in the exhaust system to measure an air-fuel ratio of gas exhausted by the engine;
- and
- a controller including a processor and electronic storage medium holding instructions that when executed by the processor:
- adjust fuel injection to the engine responsive to air-fuel ratio sensor feedback with a first control structure;
- and
- in response to detecting an asymmetric fault of the air-fuel ratio sensor, adjust fuel injection to the engine responsive to air-fuel ratio sensor feedback with a second, different, control structure.
4 more elements
A method, comprising:
- in response to detecting an asymmetric fault of an air-fuel ratio sensor, adjusting fuel injection to an engine based on air-fuel ratio sensor feedback that incorporates a model of the asymmetric fault's behavior.
