An ablation applicator for an ablation device, the ablation applicator comprising
- a tubular body defining an inner lumen to which an ablation medium is conductible;
- wherein the tubular body comprises a matrix accommodating a plurality of particles.
A method of configuring an ablation applicator for an ablation device in accordance, with at least one predefined ablation characteristic, the method comprising
- forming a tubular body defining an inner lumen to which an ablation medium is conductible and comprising a matrix accommodating a plurality of particles;
- selecting the matrix and the particles so as to meet the at least one predefined ablation characteristic by the correspondingly configured ablation applicator.
An ablation method, comprising:
- conducting an ablation medium to an inner lumen defined within a tubular body which comprises a matrix accommodating a plurality of particles;
- ablating material by contacting the material with an external surface of the tubular body.
A cryoapplicator tubing made from a polymer being filled with particles in a first section and being unfilled in another second section, where at least in one quarter of a circumference of the cryoapplicator tubing, a heat transfer parameter is larger than 1500 W/m2K and at least in one other quarter of the circumference the heat transfer parameter is smaller than 1200 W/m2K.
An ablation applicator, particularly a cryoapplicator, for an ablation device for ablating tissue of a blood vessel, particularly of an artery or a vein, the ablation applicator comprising
- a tubular body defining an inner lumen to which an ablation medium is conductible;
- a control mechanism configured for converting the tubular body between a passive operation mode for inserting the ablation applicator into the blood vessel and an active operation mode for ablating tissue of the blood vessel, particularly along a helical path, more particularly a helical path having at least one full winding.
