Abstract
Provided herein are compounds that inhibit a binding interaction between a β integrin and a G protein subunit, as well as compositions, e.g., pharmaceutical compositions, comprising the same, and related kits. In some embodiments, the compound is an antibody or antibody analog, and, in other embodiments, the compound is a peptide or peptide analog. Also provided are methods of using the compounds, including methods of treating or preventing a medical condition, such as stroke, heart attack, cancer, or inflammation.
Claims29
A peptide or peptide analog comprising an amino acid sequence
- Xaa1 Xaa2 Glu
- wherein Xaa1 is Glu or Gln and Xaa2 is Glu, Lys, Ser, or Ala,
- wherein the peptide or peptide analog comprises Phe N-terminal to Xaa1 Xaa2 Glu
- wherein the peptide or peptide analog comprises Xaa3 Xaa4 C terminal to Xaa1 Xaa2 Glu, wherein Xaa3 is Lys, Arg, or Gln and Xaa4 Met, Leu, Ala, Ser, or Gln,
- wherein the peptide or peptide analog is a 5-mer, 6-mer, 7-mer, 8-mer, 9-mer-10-mer, 11-mer, 12-mer, 13-mer, or 14-mer,
- wherein the peptide or peptide analog inhibits a binding interaction between a β3 integrin and a G protein subunit Gα1t or Gα13.
