Method and systems for generating and sending a hot link associated with a user interface to a device

One or more computer-readable media containing instructions written thereon that, in response to execution on a computing system:

• identify, for a mobile device, a user interface element existing on the mobile device prior to generation of hot links associated with the user interface element;
• determine an action to be performed by the mobile device upon activation by a user of the user interface element;
• generate a hot link to perform the action;
• generate a message containing the hot link and assignment information assigning the hot link to the user interface element of the mobile device;
• and
• send the message to the mobile device.

One or more computer-readable media containing instructions written thereon that, in response to execution on a mobile device, cause the mobile device to:

• receive a message comprising a hot link and assignment information assigning the hot link to a user interface element of the mobile device that was on the mobile device prior to generation of the assignment information, the hot link comprising instructions to perform an action;
• extract the hot link and the assignment information;
• assign the hot link to the user interface element in accordance with the extracted assignment information;
• receive an activation of the assigned user interface element;
• and
• execute the hot link to perform the action, responsive to the activation of the assigned user interface element.

A mobile device, comprising:

• one or more computer processors;
• a user interface element being part of the mobile device prior to generation of the assignment information;
• and
• logic configured to operate on the one or more computer processors to:
• receive a message comprising a hot link and assignment information assigning the hot link to an user interface element of the mobile device, the hot link comprising instructions to perform an action;
• extract the hot link and the assignment information;
• assign the hot link to the user interface element in accordance with the extracted assignment information;
• receive an activation of the assigned user interface element;
• and
• execute the hot link to perform the action, responsive to the activation of the assigned user interface element.
