Abstract
The invention relates to a gas-diffusion electrode provided with a sintered and cast gas-diffusion layer having a high elastic modulus. The electrode is useful as hydrogen-consuming anode or oxygen-consuming cathode of depolarised electrolytic cells such as electrowinning, chlor-alkali or electrodialysis cells.
Claims14
A gas-diffusion electrode comprising a gas-diffusion layer laminated on a reinforcement member, said gas-diffusion layer consisting of a sintered and cast conductive powder/fluorinated binder composition, the gas-diffusion layer/reinforcement member assembly having a longitudinal elastic modulus of at least 10,000 MPa.
