Abstract
The present disclosure relates to fill formulations comprising at least one polymer and at least one fill component wherein the at least one fill component in the absence of the at least one polymer will migrate into or through a capsule shell. The present disclosure also relates to capsules comprising fill formulations according to the present disclosure. The present disclosure also relates to methods of reducing migration of fill components into or through the shell resulting in increased product integrity.
Claims44
A stable gel-like matrix capsule fill formulation comprising at least one polymer in a concentration ranging from about 0.1% to about 20% w/w and at least one volatile or semi-volatile fill component, wherein the at least one fill component in the absence of the at least one polymer will migrate into or through a capsule shell.
A method of decreasing migration of at least one volatile or semi-volatile fill component into or through a capsule shell, comprising mixing the at least one volatile or semi-volatile fill component and at least one polymer in a concentration ranging from about 0.1% to about 20% to form a stable gel-like matrix and loading the gel-like matrix into a capsule shell.
A capsule filled with a stable gel-like matrix formulation comprising at least one polymer dissolved within at least one volatile or semi-volatile fill component wherein the at least one fill component, if not mixed with the polymer, will migrate into or through a capsule shell.
40-42. (canceled)
A fill formulation comprising hydroxypropyl cellulose, and at least one volatile compound selected from the group consisting of 2-butanol, 2-pentanone, and L-carvone, and mixtures thereof.
