An injectable device comprising a cell-adhesive cryogel composition comprising open interconnected pores, wherein said cryogel is characterized by shape memory following deformation by compression or dehydration, and wherein said cryogel comprises a crosslinked gelatin polymer or a crosslinked alginate polymer.
