Enhanced wagering game system with additional bonus challenges

A method of playing a wagering game, the method comprising:

• displaying, on a display device, an initial challenge including a challenge condition that must be achieved within a predetermined number of future plays of the wagering game;
• receiving, via an input device, inputs indicative of wagers to play the wagering game;
• determining, via at least one of one or more processors, whether the challenge condition is achieved within the predetermined number of future plays;
• and
• in response to the challenge condition being achieved within the predetermined number of future plays, awarding, via at least one of the one or more processors, a special award and unlocking a new challenge, the new challenge being different from the initial challenge and having a different degree of difficulty than the initial challenge.

A gaming system comprising:

• an input device;
• a display device configured to display a wagering game;
• one or more processors;
• and
• one or more memory devices storing instructions that, when executed by at least one of the one or more processors, cause the gaming system to:
• display, on the display device, an initial challenge including a challenge condition that must be achieved within a predetermined number of future plays of the wagering game;
• receive, via the input device, inputs indicative of wagers to play the wagering game;
• determine whether the challenge condition is achieved within the predetermined number of future plays;
• and
• in response to the challenge condition being achieved within the predetermined number of future plays, award a special award and unlock a new challenge, the new challenge being different from the initial challenge and having a different degree of difficulty than the initial challenge.

One or more physical machine-readable storage media including instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

• displaying on a display device, an initial challenge including a challenge condition that must be achieved within a predetermined number of future plays of the wagering game;
• receiving, via an input device, wagers to play the wagering game;
• determining whether the challenge condition is achieved within the predetermined number of future plays;
• and
• in response to the challenge condition being achieved within the predetermined number of future plays, awarding a special award and unlocking a new challenge, the new challenge being different from the initial challenge and having a different degree of difficulty than the initial challenge.
