A wireless station apparatus in a wireless system including a base station apparatus, the wireless station apparatus, and a mobile station apparatus, comprising:

• a reception unit configured to receive a mode switching control signal from an information source other than the base station apparatus, the mode switching control signal causing a mode to switch either to a first mode in which the wireless station apparatus communicates with only the base station apparatus or to a second mode in which the wireless station apparatus communicates with the mobile station apparatus;
• a mode switching processing unit configured to switch the mode either to the first mode or to the second mode;
• and
• a control unit configured to, in the first mode, communicate with only the base station apparatus, and, in the second mode, communicate with the mobile station apparatus.

An integrated circuit disposed in a wireless station apparatus in a wireless system including a base station apparatus, the wireless station apparatus, and a mobile station apparatus, comprising:

• a reception circuit configured to receive a mode switching control signal from an information source other than the base station apparatus, the mode switching control signal causing a mode to switch either to a first mode in which the wireless station apparatus communicates with only the base station apparatus or to a second mode in which the wireless station apparatus communicates with the mobile station apparatus;
• a mode switching processing circuit configured to switch the mode either to the first mode or to the second mode;
• and
• a control circuit configured to, in the first mode, communicate with only the base station apparatus, and, in the second mode, communicate with the mobile station apparatus.
