Abstract
Compositions containing imidazole-based compounds, and optionally, colloidal oatmeal, for the treatment, prevention, and management of symptoms, conditions, diseases, and disorders of the skin. Also, methods for the treatment, prevention, and management of symptoms, conditions, diseases, and disorders of the skin using compositions containing imidazole-based compounds, and optionally, colloidal oatmeal.
Claims16
A method of treating, managing, or preventing a dermatological or skin condition, which comprises topically administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically or prophylactically effective benefit agent comprising an imidazole compound of the formula:
- wherein:
- R1 is hydrogen, alkyl or aryl;
- R6 is OR10 or OC(O)R10;
- R7 is OR11 or OC(O)R11;
- R8 is OR12 or OC(O)R12;
- and
- R9 is hydrogen, CH2OR13 or CH2OC(O)R13;
- and each of R10, R11, R12 and R13 is independently hydrogen or lower alkyl, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates thereof,
- and pharmaceutically, dermatologically, or cosmetically acceptable salts thereof.
A method of caring for skin, delivering or depositing a benefit agent onto skin, or suppressing a dermatologic immune response in a patient in need thereof, which comprises topically administering to the skin of a subject in need thereof a benefit agent comprising an imidazole compound of the formula:
- wherein:
- R1 is hydrogen, alkyl or aryl;
- R6 is OR10 or OC(O)R10;
- R7 is OR11 or OC(O)R11;
- R8 is OR12 or OC(O)R12;
- and
- R9 is hydrogen, CH2OR13 or CH2OC(O)R13;
- and each of R10, R11, R12 and R13 is independently hydrogen or lower alkyl,
- and pharmaceutically, dermatologically, or cosmetically acceptable salts thereof, contained in a dermatologically acceptable carrier.
A composition comprising colloidal oatmeal and an imidazole compound of the formula
- wherein:
- R1 is hydrogen, alkyl or aryl;
- R6 is OR10 or OC(O)R10;
- R7 is OR11 or OC(O)R11;
- R8 is OR12 or OC(O)R12;
- and
- R9 is hydrogen, CH2OR13 or CH2OC(O)R13;
- and each of R10, R11, R12 and R13 is independently hydrogen or lower alkyl,
- and pharmaceutically, dermatologically, or cosmetically acceptable salts thereof, contained in a dermatologically acceptable carrier.
