Pressing Mechanism for a Developing Cartridge

An image forming apparatus configured to form an image on a recording medium, comprising:

• a main body;
• a cover configured to move between an open position and a closed position relative to the main body;
• an exposure unit disposed in the main body;
• a first cartridge and a second cartridge configured to contain a first developer and a second developer respectively, wherein the first cartridge and the second cartridge are to be arranged in an arrangement direction below the exposure unit;
• and
• a pressing mechanism disposed in the main body and shifted from the exposure unit in a horizontal direction perpendicular to the arrangement direction, the pressing mechanism being configured to press the first cartridge and the second cartridge downward,
• wherein, the first cartridge and the second cartridge, arranged in the arrangement direction below the exposure unit, extend in the horizontal direction perpendicular to the arrangement direction such that the pressing mechanism presses an end portion of each of the first cartridge and the second cartridge and such that a central portion of each of the first cartridge and the second cartridge is disposed immediately below the exposure unit.
