Abstract
Systems, apparatus and methods are described including determining a prediction residual for a channel of video data; and determining, using the first channel's prediction residual, a prediction residual for a second channel of the video data. Further, a prediction residual for a third channel of the video data may be determined using the second channel's prediction residual.
Claims36
A video decoder comprising:
- circuitry to receive at least a portion of a bitstream;
- circuitry to determine a luma predicted residual value based on the received bitstream;
- and
- circuitry to:
- in response to a flag related to the bitstream that is to indicate use of cross channel residual prediction:
- for one or more pixel positions:
- determine a product of a linear factor and the luma predicted residual value and
- determine a chroma value based at least in part on the product of the linear factor and the luma predicted residual value.
A computer-implemented method for decoding video, the method comprising:
- accessing at least a portion of a bitstream;
- determining a luma predicted residual value based on the received bitstream;
- and
- in response to a flag related to the bitstream that indicates use of cross channel residual prediction:
- for one or more pixel positions:
- determining a product of a linear factor and the luma predicted residual value and
- determining a chroma value based at least in part on the product of the linear factor and the luma predicted residual value.
A system comprising:
- a display;
- a wireless network interface;
- and
- at least one circuitry communicatively coupled to the display and wireless network interface, the at least one circuitry to:
- access at least a portion of a bitstream;
- determine a luma predicted residual value based on the bitstream;
- in response to a flag related to the bitstream that is to indicate use of cross channel residual prediction:
- for one or more pixel positions:
- determine a product of a linear factor and the luma predicted residual value and
- determine a chroma value based at least in part on the product of the linear factor and the luma predicted residual value.
At least one computer readable medium, comprising instructions stored thereon, which when executed by a computer, cause the computer to:
- access at least a portion of a bitstream;
- determine a luma predicted residual value based on the bitstream;
- in response to a flag related to the bitstream that indicates use of cross channel residual prediction:
- for one or more pixel positions:
- determine a product of a linear factor and the luma predicted residual value and
- determine a chroma value based at least in part on the product of the linear factor and the luma predicted residual value.
