A radio communications system includes a base station and a mobile station configured to perform communication with the base station. The base station includes a selection unit and a first transmission unit. The selection unit selects identification information specifying a resource used by the mobile station for transmission of a signal from among a plurality of resources. The first transmission unit transmits the identification information to the mobile station. The mobile station includes a reception unit and a second transmission unit. The reception unit receives the identification information transmitted by the first transmission unit. The second transmission unit transmits the signal to the base station using the resource specified by the identification information.
