Abstract
A method and module for monitoring a voltage of a power cell, sampling and holding a voltage of the power cell, and balancing a voltage of the power cell. In accordance with an embodiment, an interface circuit is capable of operation in a plurality of operating modes. In accordance with another embodiment, the interface circuit is coupled to a filter section.

A monitor and control circuit, comprising:
- a switching network having first, second, and third terminals;
- and
- a filter circuit having first and second input terminals and first, second, and third output terminals, the first output terminal coupled to the first terminal of the switching network and the third output terminal coupled to the third terminal of the switching network.
A circuit, comprising:
- a switching network having first, second, and third terminals;
- a first impedance element coupled to the first terminal of the switching network;
- an energy storage element coupled to the second terminal of the switching network;
- and
- a second impedance element coupled to the third terminal of the switching network.

A method for interfacing with one or more power cells, comprising:
- operating an interface circuit in a first operating mode to filter and monitor a voltage of a first power cell of the one or more power cells;
- operating the interface circuit in a second operating mode to sample the voltage of the first power cell;
- and
- operating the interface circuit in a third operating mode to balance the voltage of the first power cell.
