Abstract
A method is provided for marking a tool. The method subsequently includes the steps of hardening the surface of the tool, making inscription in the surface of the tool, filling colorant in the inscription, clearing the surface of the tool of an excessive portion of the colorant placed outside the inscription, and electroplating the surface of the tool.

A method for marking a tool, the method sequentially including the steps of:
- hardening the tool;
- making inscription in the tool in a manner selected from the group consisting of rolling and punching;
- and
- filling colorant in the inscription.
