## Abstract

A method uses a computing device that includes a first processor in a first, inactive state operatively coupled to a second processor in an active state. While the first processor is in the first state (301) the second processor uses sensors to determine (303) that a first condition occurred. In response to determining that the first condition has occurred, the first processor initializes (305) to a second, active state. If the first or second processor determines (311) that a second condition has occurred within a given time period (307 and 309) after the first condition occurred, the first processor performs (315) a first action such as launching a software application, capturing a digital photograph, or placing a phone call.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method, at a computing device that includes a first processor in a first state operatively coupled to a second processor, comprising:
determining, by the second processor, that a first condition has occurred;
initializing the first processor to a second state, in response to determining that the first condition has occurred;
determining, by the first processor, that a second condition has occurred within a first time period; and
performing a first action by the first processor, in response to determining that the second condition has occurred within the first time period.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein determining that the first condition has occurred includes:
receiving a first indication from a first sensor operatively coupled to the second processor;
determining that the first indication is greater than a first threshold;
receiving a second indication from a second sensor operatively coupled to the second processor; and
determining that the second indication is greater than a second threshold.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The method of claim 2, wherein determining that the first condition has occurred further includes:
receiving a third indication from a third sensor operatively coupled to the second processor; and
determining that the third indication is greater than a third threshold.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein determining that the first condition has occurred includes:
receiving, from a fourth sensor operatively coupled to the second processor, a first orientation indication associated with a first orientation of the computing device;
determining that the first orientation is substantially similar to a first predefined orientation of the computing device prior to starting a third time period;
receiving, from the fourth sensor, a secondary orientation indication associated with a secondary orientation of the computing device during the third time period;
determining that the secondary orientation is substantially similar to the first predefined orientation of the computing device during the third time period.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The method of claim 4, wherein determining that the first condition has occurred further includes:
receiving, from a fifth sensor operatively coupled to the second processor, a fourth indication; and
determining that the fourth indication is greater than a fourth threshold.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, further comprising:
providing a user notification at the computing device, in response to determining that the second condition has occurred within the first time period.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The method of claim 6, wherein providing the user notification includes:
providing an auditory user notification.

### Claim 8 (depends on 6)

The method of claim 6, wherein providing the user notification includes:
providing a visual user notification.

### Claim 9 (depends on 6)

The method of claim 6, wherein providing the user notification includes:
providing a haptic user notification.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein initializing the first processor to the second state includes increasing a power supply voltage to the first processor.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein determining that the second condition has occurred includes:
receiving, from a sixth sensor operatively coupled to at least one of the first processor and the second processor, a first movement indication associated with a first movement of the computing device;
determining that the first movement is substantially similar to a first predefined movement;
receiving a fifth indication, from a seventh sensor operatively coupled to at least one of the first processor and the second processor;
determining that the fifth indication is greater than a fifth threshold;
receiving a sixth indication, from an eighth sensor operatively coupled to at least one of the first processor and the second processor; and
determining that the sixth indication is greater than a sixth threshold.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The method of claim 11, further comprising:
receiving, from the sixth sensor, a secondary movement indication associated with a secondary movement of the computing device; and
determining that the secondary movement is substantially similar to a secondary predefined movement prior to expiration of a fourth time period.

### Claim 13 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein determining that the second condition has occurred includes:
receiving, from a plurality of ninth sensors operatively coupled to at least one of the first processor and the second processor, a second gesture indication associated with a second gesture during the first time period; and
