## Abstract

A method for enhancing a pre-existing calendar on an electronic device includes parsing an event of the pre-existing calendar for an item of information associated with the event. The method further includes searching at least one source for a visual representation indicative of the information associated with the event using the item of information as a search term. The method further includes forming a visual enhancement layer including the visual representation and generating a visually enhanced calendar based on the visual enhancement layer and the pre-existing calendar for display on the electronic device in lieu of the pre-existing calendar.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for enhancing a pre-existing calendar on an electronic device, the method comprising:
parsing an event of the pre-existing calendar for an item of information associated with the event;
searching at least one source for a visual representation indicative of the information associated with the event using the item of information as a search term;
forming a visual enhancement layer including the visual representation; and
generating a visually enhanced calendar based on the visual enhancement layer and the pre-existing calendar for display on the electronic device in lieu of the pre-existing calendar.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1 wherein:
the step of parsing includes parsing the event of the pre-existing calendar for items of information associated with the event;
the step of searching includes searching the at least one source for visual representations indicative of the items of information associated with the event using the items of information as search terms; and
the step of forming includes forming the visual enhancement layer including the visual representations.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1 wherein:
the step of parsing includes parsing events of the pre-existing calendar for items of information respectively associated with the events;
the step of searching includes the at least one source for visual representations indicative of the items of information associated with the events using the items of information as search terms; and
the step of forming includes forming the visual enhancement layer including the visual representations.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1 wherein:
the at least one source includes an Internet search provider.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1 wherein:
the at least one source includes a social network source.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1 wherein:
the at least one source includes the electronic device.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1 wherein:
the visual representation includes at least one of an image, a video, an animation, a multi-media asset.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1 further comprising:
archiving the visual representations; and
displaying the archived visual representations after the visually enhanced calendar has elapsed.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1 wherein:
the electronic device is one of a mobile phone, a tablet computer, and a computer wearable device.

### Claim 10

A system for enhancing a pre-existing calendar on an electronic device, the system comprising:
a server configured to parse an event of the pre-existing calendar for an item of information associated with the event, search at least one source for a visual representation indicative of the information associated with the event using the item of information as a search term, form a visual enhancement layer including the visual representation, and generate a visually enhanced calendar based on the visual enhancement layer and the pre-existing calendar for display on the electronic device in lieu of the pre-existing calendar.

### Claim 11 (depends on 10)

The system of claim 10 wherein:
the at least one source includes at least one of an Internet search provider, a social network source, and the electronic device.

### Claim 12 (depends on 10)

The system of claim 10 wherein:
the visual representation includes at least one of an image, a video, an animation, a multi-media asset.

### Claim 13 (depends on 10)

The system of claim 10 wherein:
the server is further configured to archive the visual representations and display the archived visual representations after the visually enhanced calendar has elapsed.

### Claim 14 (depends on 10)

The system of claim 10 wherein:
the electronic device is one of a mobile phone, a tablet computer, and a computer wearable device.

### Claim 15

An electronic device comprising:
a pre-existing calendar; and
an agent configured to parse an event of the pre-existing calendar for an item of information associated with the event, search at least one source for a visual representation indicative of the information associated with the event using the item of information as a search term, form a visual enhancement layer including the visual representation, and generate a visually enhanced calendar based on the visual enhancement layer and the pre-existing calendar for display on the electronic device in lieu of the pre-existing calendar.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The device of claim 15 wherein:
the visual representation includes at least one of an image, a video, an animation, a multi-media asset.

### Claim 17 (depends on 15)

The device of claim 15 wherein:
the agent is further configured to archive the visual representations and display the archived visual representations after the visually enhanced calendar has elapsed.

### Claim 18 (depends on 15)

The device of claim 15 wherein:
the electronic device is one of a mobile phone, a tablet computer, and a computer wearable device.
