## Abstract

A wing flap control system on a wing comprising at least two control plates having an opening sized to accommodate a drive shaft, a drive shaft that engages each of the openings in each of the plurality of plates, a sprocket rotatively affixed the drive shaft with the drive shaft penetrating the other control plate, at least two idler sprockets between the control plates, a chain wrapped around the sprocket and idler sprockets, a support arm rotatively coupled to the chain by a chain shoe and to a foreflap, a link arm rotatively coupled to the support arm and to a flap, where movement of the drive shaft causes the foreflap and flap to extend and retract to increase or decrease the surface area of the wing.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A wing flap control system on a wing comprising:
at least two control plates having an opening sized to accommodate a drive shaft;
a drive shaft that engages each of the openings in each of the plurality of plates;
a sprocket rotatively affixed the drive shaft with the drive shaft penetrating the other control plate;
at least two idler sprockets between the control plates;
a chain engages the sprocket and idler sprockets;
a support arm rotatively coupled to the chain by a chain shoe and to a foreflap;
a link arm rotatively coupled to the support arm and to a flap,
wherein movement of the drive shaft causes the foreflap and flap to extend and retract to increase or decrease the surface area of the wing.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The wing flap control system of claim 1, wherein the chain shoe slides in a first slot formed on the surface of the control plate.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The wing flap control system of claim 2, wherein the link arm slides in a second slot formed on the surface of the control plate.

### Claim 4 (depends on 2)

The wing flap control system of claim 2, wherein the first slot is substantially straight horizontal.

### Claim 5 (depends on 3)

The wing flap control system of claim 3, wherein the second slot is substantially arc shaped.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The wing flap control system of claim 1, wherein the link arm is connected to the flap and foreflap by a tilt arm.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The wing flap control system of claim 6, wherein foreflap is connected to the flap by a flap plates.

### Claim 8 (depends on 3)

The wing flap control system of claim 3, wherein the link arm is substantially “U” shaped.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The wing flap control system of claim 1, including a cover plate on a first side the control plate.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The wing flap control system of claim 9, including at least two cover plates on the second side of at least one cover plate.

### Claim 11

The wing flap control system of claim wherein the link arm is rotatively connected to connected to the support arm by a shoe.
