Abstract
Embodiments of a heating system maintains the temperature of a fuel additive (e.g., AUS32) at and/or above freezing temperature to avoid crystallization. The heating system can form a fluid circuit with one or more coaxially arranged sleeves disposed about hoses that transport the additives. The fluid circuit can also include a central compartment that encloses a flow meter. A fluid heater couples with the fluid circuit to provide heating fluid, e.g., to the central compartment. The heating fluid disperses throughout the heating compartment and into the sleeves, thereby direction heating fluid in thermal proximity to the hoses and other components that handle the fuel additive.
Claims20
A heating system for a fuel dispenser, said heating system comprising:
- a central compartment having an inlet and an outlet;
- and
- an elongated sleeve coupled with the central enclosure, the elongated sleeve circumscribing a hose that carries the fuel additive in the fuel dispenser.
A device for dispensing a fuel additive, said device comprising:
- a flow meter;
- a hose that carries the fuel additive from the flow meter;
- and
- a compartment structure with a central compartment enclosing the flow meter and an elongated sleeve coupled with the central compartment and circumscribing the hose.
A fuel dispenser, comprising:
- a first nozzle;
- a first hose coupled with the first nozzle;
- an elongated sleeve circumscribing the first hose;
- and
- a central compartment coupled with the elongated sleeve,
- wherein the elongated sleeve and the central compartment form a fluid circuit that can receive a heating fluid, and
- wherein the central compartment forms an enclosure with a volume that is less than a cabinet volume for a cabinet in which the flow meter is located in the fuel dispenser.
