## Abstract

A travel search engine enables a user to share his or her search results with one or more other users in real time. Each of the users has a common set of search results and any user can select share a specific result within the common set. The remaining results in the common set can be independently filtered and sorted. By selectively sharing various ones of the search results, while being able to separately manipulate the remaining search results, users have access to a common set of potentially mutually acceptable results, but can still individually explore the search results by filtering along different criteria.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A computer program product comprising a computer readable storage medium having computer program instructions and data embodied thereon for displaying on a display device shared search results in a user interface, the computer program instruction and data to configure a processor to perform operations comprising:
presenting on the display device in a first portion of the user interface, a set of search results from a search session to a first user, each search result in the set including a user interface control to share the search result with another user; and
responsive to a request from the first user to share a selected search result from the set of search results with a second user, presenting the selected search result on the display device in a second portion of the user interface separate from the first portion, while removing the selected search result from the set of search results displayed in the first portion of the user interface.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The computer program product of claim 1, further comprising:
presenting in the user interface a refinement control configured to refine the set of search results in the first portion of the user interface without affecting search results presented to other participants of the search session.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The computer program product of claim 1, wherein each search result in the set is for a travel reservation.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The computer program product of claim 1, further comprising:
presenting in the user interface a control to share the set of search results with another user.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The computer program product of claim 4, further comprising:
responsive to a request to share the set of search results with another user, presenting in the user interface a form field for receiving the email address of the other user.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The computer program product of claim 1, further comprising:
presenting in the user interface a control to stop the sharing of the specific search result.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The computer program product of claim 6, further comprising:
responsive to a request from the first user to stop the sharing of the selected search result, removing the selected search result from the second portion of the user interface.
