According to another embodiment of the invention, a method for indexing records in an index of an information network, includes the acts of: receiving a record; searching the record for an indication that an object comprising at least one specified attribute is to be displayed with the record; finding the indication; creating a representation of the object; storing the representation in association with the record to which it corresponds; and making an entry for the record in the index, said entry indicating the object to be displayed with the record. ## Claims ### Claim 1 A method, implemented on a machine having at least one processor, storage, and a communication platform connected to a network for providing a search result, comprising: identifying, by the at least one processor, one or more records in response to a query received from a user; identifying, from the one or more records, a record having an associated non-text element, wherein the non-text element has been created previously based on the record and stored in the storage; retrieving the non-text element from the storage; generating a search result that includes the non-text element and a link to the record; and providing the search result to the user as a response to the query. ### Claim 2 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein the non-text element was created previously based on one or more non-text elements in the record. ### Claim 3 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein the non-text element was created previously based on one or more text elements in the record. ### Claim 4 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein the non-text element is at least one of an audio element, a video element, and an image element. ### Claim 5 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein the non-text element is an image element displayed as a thumbnail in the search result. ### Claim 6 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein the non-text element is displayed below a relevant text element of the record. ### Claim 7 (depends on 1) The method of claim 1, wherein the non-text element is displayed next to a relevant text element of the record. ### Claim 8 A system having at least one processor, storage, and a communication platform connected to a network for providing a search result, wherein the at least one processor is configured for: identifying, by the at least one processor, one or more records in response to a query received from a user; identifying, from the one or more records, a record having an associated non-text element, wherein the non-text element has been created previously based on the record and stored in the storage; retrieving the non-text element from the storage;
