## Abstract

A suspension liner sleeve adapted to provide an interface between a residual limb and a prosthetic socket, and having outer and inner surfaces. The liner sleeve includes an elongate, generally conical body portion formed from at least one material segment defining the liner outer surface. The at least one material segment being at least radially elastically extensible from a relaxed non-extended condition and including proximal and distal end areas. The liner sleeve includes a layer of polymeric material disposed on the at least one material segment and defining the liner sleeve inner surface, and a plurality of resilient seal elements protruding radially from the liner sleeve outer surface. The plurality of seal elements extend around at least one peripheral portion of the liner body portion. A pair of opposed annular recesses may be adjacently located above and below each of the at least one seal element.

## Claims

### Claim at position 1

### Claim 41 (depends on 40)

The suspension liner sleeve as claimed in claim 40, wherein said reinforcement material provides greater elastic stiffness in an axial direction relative to a radial direction of the body portion.

### Claim 42 (depends on 40)

The suspension liner sleeve of claim 40, wherein the reinforcement material extends fully around the distal end area of the body portion and up to the proximal end of the body portion.

### Claim 43 (depends on 40)

The suspension liner sleeve of claim 40, wherein the reinforcement material is a textile.

### Claim 44 (depends on 40)

### Claim 45 (depends on 44)

The suspension liner sleeve of claim 44, wherein the seal elements are formed of the same silicone elastomer as the sleeve body portion.

### Claim 46 (depends on 40)

The suspension liner sleeve of claim 40, wherein the seal elements are arranged for deflection towards the liner profile of the body portion when the liner sleeve is donned on a residual limb and placed within a prosthetic socket.

### Claim 47 (depends on 40)

The suspension liner sleeve of claim 40, wherein each of the seal elements forms a peak defined as the outermost extending portion of the seal element.

### Claim 48 (depends on 47)

The suspension liner sleeve of claim 47, wherein the distal section is curvilinear and extends from the liner profile to the peak.

### Claim 49 (depends on 47)

The suspension liner sleeve of claim 47, wherein each of the seal elements includes a proximal section extending from the peak to the liner body portion above the distal section.

### Claim 50

A prosthesis system comprising:
a suspension liner sleeve including:
an elongate, generally conical body portion formed of an elastomeric, and defining a continuous liner profile extending between a proximal end area and a distal end area; and
multiple, axially spaced resilient seal elements integrally formed in one piece with the body portion and protruding radially from the liner profile between said proximal and distal end areas of the liner sleeve, each of the seal elements having a distal section inclined outwardly from the liner profile of the body portion toward the proximal end area; and
a prosthetic socket configured to receive said suspension liner sleeve in close fitting relationship when the body portion is disposed on a residual limb, the seal elements bridging any gap between said body portion and an interior wall of said prosthetic socket in the area of the seal elements;
wherein the seal elements are arranged for deflection towards the liner profile of the body portion when donned on a residual limb and placed within the prosthetic socket.

### Claim 51 (depends on 50)

The prosthesis system of claim 50, wherein said prosthetic socket includes an evacuation device enabling evacuation of air between the distal end area of said body portion and said prosthetic socket after the body portion has been inserted within said prosthetic socket to an extent such that said seal elements bridge any gap between the body portion and an interior wall of said prosthetic socket.
