The apparatus of the present invention allows one to adjust and lock the length of the support strap, to change the positions of the trunk belt and the support straps, and to use one or more drainage bags. Methods of using the drainage bag support apparatus include securing the trunk belt around an individual and securing one or more drainage bags to the drainage bag support apparatus. Kits that provide the components of the drainage bag support apparatus to be used along with at least one drainage bag are also described herein. ## Claims ### Claim 1 A drainage bag support apparatus for use by an individual having a medical condition in which fluid is drained, wherein the apparatus comprises: a. a trunk belt having a fastener to secure the trunk belt around a trunk of the individual; b. at least one slider wherein the slider is slidably attached to the trunk belt; c. at least one support strap, wherein the support strap is attached to the slider and adjusts in length; and d. a retention device, slidably attached to the support strap, for receiving at least one drainage bag. ### Claim 2 (depends on 1) The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the slider has a means for receiving the support strap. ### Claim 3 (depends on 1) The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the trunk belt has a first end and a second end, wherein the fastener attaches the first end to the second end, the first end to a portion of the trunk belt, the second end to a portion of the trunk belt, or a portion of the trunk belt to another portion of the trunk belt. ### Claim 4 (depends on 1) The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the retention device receives two or more drainage bags. ### Claim 5 (depends on 1) The apparatus of claim 1, comprising two or more sliders slidably attached to the trunk belt. ### Claim 6 (depends on 2) The apparatus of claim 2, comprising two or more support straps, each strap being attached to at least one slider. ### Claim 7 (depends on 1) The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the support strap comprises a position adjuster that adjusts the length of the support strap and locks the length of the support strap. ### Claim 8 (depends on 1) The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the trunk belt is made from an elastic material, and the support strap is made from a non-elastic material. ### Claim 9 A drainage bag support apparatus for use by an individual having a medical condition in which fluid is drained, wherein the apparatus comprises: a. a trunk belt having a fastener to secure the trunk belt around a trunk of the individual; b. at least one slider wherein the slider is slidably attached to the trunk belt; c. two or more support straps, wherein the two or more support straps adjust in length and are attached to at least one slider; d. two or more position adjusters that adjust the length of the support straps and lock the length of the support straps; and e. two or more retention devices for receiving at least one drainage bag, wherein each retention device attaches to one support strap. ### Claim 10 (depends on 9) The apparatus of claim 9, comprising two or more sliders slidably attached to the trunk belt. ### Claim 11 (depends on 9) The apparatus of claim 9, comprising two or more retention devices, wherein each retention device is slidably attached to one support strap, wherein the retention devices receive two or more drainage bags. ### Claim 12 (depends on 11) The apparatus of claim 11, wherein each retention device receives at least one drainage bag having two or more bag openings, wherein the retention device receives the bag by a bag opening. ### Claim 13 (depends on 11) The apparatus of claim 11, wherein two or more retention devices commonly receive at least one drainage bag. ### Claim 14 A drainage bag support apparatus for use by an individual having a condition in which fluid is drained, wherein the apparatus comprises: a. a trunk belt having a fastener to secure the trunk belt around a trunk of the individual; b. two or more sliders, which each slider comprises a hook, and a slider opening to receive the trunk belt; wherein the two or more sliders slidably receive the trunk belt allowing any of their positions to be adjusted along the trunk belt; c. two or more support straps, wherein the two or more support straps are each attached to a hook of each slider, and wherein each support strap adjusts in length; d. a cam buckle attached to the support strap, wherein the cam buckle adjusts the length of the strap and locks the length of the support strap; and e. two or more quick release retention clips for receiving at least one drainage bag at one or more points of attachment, wherein each retention clip slidably attaches to one support strap. ### Claim 15 A method of using a drainage bag support apparatus by an individual having a trunk and having a medical condition in which fluid is drained into a drainage bag, wherein the apparatus comprises a trunk belt having a fastener to secure the trunk belt around a trunk of the individual; at least one slider wherein the slider is slidably attached to the trunk belt; at least one support strap, wherein the support strap is attached to the slider and adjusts in length; and a retention device, slidably attached to the support strap, for receiving at least one drainage bag; the method comprising the steps of: a. securing the trunk belt around the trunk of the individual; and b. securing the drainage bag used by the individual to the retention device. ### Claim 16 (depends on 15) The method of claim 15, further comprising adjusting the length of the support strap using a position adjuster that adjusts the length of the support strap and locks the length of the support strap. ### Claim 17 (depends on 15) The method of claim 15, wherein the individual is using two or more drainage bags, the method comprising the step of attaching the two or more drainage bags to the retention device. ### Claim 18 (depends on 15) The method of claim 15, wherein the trunk belt can be secured around the abdominal area or around the thorax of the individual. ### Claim 19 A kit for use by an individual having a condition in which fluid is drained, the kit comprises: a. at least one drainage bag; and b. a drainage bag support apparatus, wherein the apparatus comprises: i. a trunk belt having a fastener to secure the trunk belt around a trunk of the individual; ii. at least one slider wherein the slider is slidably attached to the trunk belt; iii. at least one support strap, wherein the support strap is attached to the slider and adjusts in length; and iv. a retention device, slidably attached to the support strap, for receiving the drainage bag. ### Claim 20 (depends on 19) The kit of claim 19, further including two or more sliders, two or more support straps; two or more retention devices, or a combination thereof.
